SYNAPTIC was this crazy idea I had after trying to dig up the rave scene in Greensboro, NC. I must admit that I was totally spoiled for a few years, reaping all of the wonderful benefits of the underground scene in Atlanta, GA. My goal was to bring a piece of Atlanta up to North Carolina with me.

 

Synaptic events have evolved over time. Over the past two years in NC I've learned so much about the music culture in North Carolina and I've had to adapt as I go.  My original vision for this project is to have multiple rooms with different DJ's, different atmospheres, different activities and different art. One idea that gets me excited is blacklight ping pong. The table will be covered with trippy swirly blacklight paint designs so that when you play it's kinda like an orange planet bouncing around in space. And of course, there will be plenty of room to dance!

That vision still influences my events. In order to navigate the business and regulatory environment I took a step back from the large, multi-room events to see what I could do with private events and my own venue. The love and support in this community is incredible. It's encouraging enough that you can expect both the big multi-room bashes and more frequent, intimate, private events coming from Synaptic in the years to come!
