Finally here!

Well, I'm finally here! Been here for a week actually, but moving is pretty hectic - you know how it goes. Since my obsessive cleaning/organizing can't be ignored you can be sure I've been running myself ragged.

First, on to not business. Greensboro is BEAUTIFUL. I'm living in an apartment complex in a huge residential area called Adams Farm. There are walking paths around lakes, trees lining both sides of long, winding roads.

There are ducks that like to bathe in our swimming pool and geese that don't give a fuck if you're trying to drive somewhere. The thing that really surprised me the most though was that EVERYONE IS SO NICE! Seriously. No one is rushed, everyone is kind and exudes southern hospitality. It's a much calmer way of life here. I love it.
That being said, Greensboro seems way too small to support a rave venue. There's the gorgeous UNCG that could have a lot of possible interested students, but a rave would seem to clash too much with the quiet, homey feel of the city. That's why I'm looking to Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham. I've heard good things about the rave scene in Charlotte, but based on my previous analysis I am leaning towards Raleigh.
Now that I'm settled in for the most part I can begin research. I want to know about the major venues, major production companies, styles of EDM, and type of vibes that make up the rave scene around here. I have a few spreadsheets already set up, tracking events, who threw them, where they were, how many people were invited and how many people attended, etc.
Research. Reeessearch. Well, I can Google the raves. Sure. But when I say research I really mean raving ;D There's no better way to learn about the scene than to become a part of it.
Let the fun begin!!!
